Book Club… but Therapy
Reading is one thing. Putting it into practice is another.
If you've ever finished a psychology or personal growth book feeling inspired, only to realize a few weeks later that you haven't put much of it into practice, you're not alone.
Book Club… but Therapy combines psychology-informed reading with group therapy, guided reflection, and practical exercises. Using a shared book as our starting point, we'll explore its ideas, consider how they apply to our own lives, and learn from the experiences and perspectives of others.
This isn't a time-management course or a way to squeeze more into your day. It's an opportunity to slow down, reflect, and explore what meaningful change might look like for you.

Our First Book: Four Thousand Weeks: Time Management for Mortals
What if the answer to feeling like there's never enough time isn't to become more productive?
In Four Thousand Weeks, Oliver Burkeman challenges the modern obsession with getting everything done, optimizing every minute, and constantly trying to fit more into our days. Instead, he invites us to reconsider our relationship with time, accept our limitations, and think about how we want to spend the time we have.
Together, we'll explore themes related to productivity, expectations, priorities, distraction, and living a meaningful life.
You can read the full book description on Goodreads.
What We’ll Explore: Week by Week
Each session will combine discussion, therapeutic reflection, and practical exercises. The following themes provide an overview of the planned sessions and may evolve in response to the group's needs.
Week 1: Introduction and Our Relationship with Time
Get to know the group, establish shared expectations, and reflect on how we currently experience and use our time.
Week 2: The Myth of Getting Everything Done
Explore productivity, competing priorities, and the pressure to keep up with an ever-growing to-do list.
Week 3: Embracing Our Limitations
Reflect on the discomfort of having limited time and energy, and what it means to accept that we cannot do everything.
Week 4: Priorities, Choices, and Trade-Offs
Explore how we decide where our time goes, what we say yes to, and what we leave behind.
Week 5: Expectations and the Pressure to Achieve
Examine the expectations we place on ourselves, where they come from, and how they influence our choices.
Week 6: Distraction, Presence, and Being Here Now
Reflect on distraction, avoidance, and the challenge of being present in the lives we're already living.
Week 7: Relationships and What Matters Most
Consider how our relationship with time shapes our connections with others and our ability to make room for what we value.
Week 8: Making Room for Meaningful Change
Identify ideas from the book that resonate with us and explore realistic ways to put them into practice.
Week 9: Reflection and Moving Forward
Reflect on what we've learned, identify intentions for the future, and consider how to carry these insights into everyday life.
